Why do I need to enter a postal address when buying a Land Registry document?

Postal address required for purchasing Land Registry Titles and Plans.

The vast majority of registered land titles have digital documents, but there still are some that have not been digitised by Land Registry and therefore not available in the standard PDF format. Usually, these are very old properties that have not exchanged hands in a long time. 

You'll be prompted to enter your postal address the first time you buy a document as shown in the GIF below. Afterwards, we'll continue to use your default address in the event that the document must be posted to you. You'll have the option to change the address so don't worry if you move or want a document sent to a different address.

If your document has been posted to you, the PDF document that you download will state that. Unfortunately you cannot see whether you will receive a digital document or physical document before you purchase it.
